In mission partnership with The Church of St. Giles
Southminster Presbyterian Church is an alliance of St. Giles (Cumberland Presbyterian) and Southminster (Presbyterian Church USA). The alliance concept involves two congregations operating out of a single ministry center with combined worship services. The Community Life Center is the Southminster Presbyterian Church building at 3500 South Peoria. This is a new and unique approach to maximizing the use of physical building facilities.

How our churches came together:In the summer of 2007, the Church of St. Giles was looking for a new location and found a spot at Southminster. The years since have been an interesting journey of blending services and opening the physical building to an additional congregation. The fellowship, worship, and service ministries of Southminster have been enhanced with the addition of a non-traditional Saturday afternoon service led by the minister of St. Giles. The partnership also allows Southminster to facilitate programs and transportation for individuals with disabilities. In 2009, the new gymnasium and community center was opened, boasting a kitchen, meeting rooms, and up-to-date amenities that should serve us for many years to come.
